Eugene John Hogan's Obituary
Eugene John Hogan of North Fort Myers, Florida, better known simply as Gene to his family and friends, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2022 while receiving care at the Hope Hospice House in Cape Coral following some recent health challenges. He was 89 years old.
Gene was born in White Plains, New York on February 17, 1933, the proud son to Angelina (Casolaro) and Eugene Ellsworth Hogan. Gene served as a Medic in the United States Air Force and remained a member of our nation's armed services from 1950 until his retirement in 1971. He was married to Louise (Hurst) Hogan who sadly preceded him in death. Gene leaves to cherish his memory his current wife Lois (Burd) Hogan; son Eugene J. Hogan Jr. (Melissa) of Yaak, Montana; daughter Georgette A. Gibboney (Dave) of Fort Myers; stepsons Anthony Klukowski (Joy) of Carlton, Michigan and Ryan Klukowski of Dearborn, Michigan. Gene also leaves behind his grandchildren Heather Ferry, Katrina Hogan and Kelly Hogan along with great-grandchildren Fletcher and Barrett Ferry, a large extended family and a great number of others who were proud to call him a friend. Also preceding Gene in death were his two stepsons Tod and Roger Klukowski.
A Memorial Mass for Gene will be celebrated by Fr. Edwin at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 18, 2022 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 20115 North Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers, Florida 33903, (239) 567-2315.
In lieu of flowers, the family instead suggests that memorial contributions in honor of Gene be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Health Park Circle, Fort Myers, Florida 33908, (239) 484-4673, https://hopehospice.org/donate/
