Eugene Patterson's Obituary
Eugene “Pat” Patterson of Cape Coral passed away Wednesday, May 20 at his home.He was born in McKenny, Kentucky in 1927 and was a member of the “Greatest Generation” serving in the Navy during World War II.He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen, his parents and four sisters.Pat was the owner operator of Fort Myers Sanitary Supply from 1961 until his retirement in 1975.After his retirement he and Lois, his wife of 68 years, traveled the country in a motor home while living in Florida and North Carolina.He is survived by Lois of Cape Coral; son Michael (Laurel) of Cape Coral; daughter Susan Trivett (Steve) of The Villages; grandchildren Hope, Stephanie (Michael), Kara (Chris) and Michael Jr.(Amber); nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.A Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 in the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Pastor James Holbrook will celebrate a Memorial Service at 2:00 PM also in the chapel. Thereafter, family and friends will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Gene will receive military honors from the Harney Point Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 8463 commemorating his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following this tribute, Gene will be laid to rest in the Resurrection Garden.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9440 Health Park Circle, Ft. Myers, 33908.
