Eva Georgeann "Georgie" Gebauer's Obituary
Eva Georgeann “Georgie” Gebauer, 86, longtime resident of Sanibel, FL passed away peacefully Saturday, February 18, 2023 surrounded by her loving family while under the care of Hope Hospice. She was born June 19, 1936 to the late, George and Helen Wood.
Georgie, or ”Gumby” as she was affectionally known by her loved ones, was the epitome of a loving mother and grandmother. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with her family. She was a lifelong educator and had a true passion for learning, reading and collecting books. She loved to cook and bake and would never say no to a good meal, especially dessert with those closest to her. She loved all things Disney, her beloved Sanibel Island, and her many pets over the years. She was truly her happiest when surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ron Gebauer, daughter, Becky, and son, Brad.
Georgie is survived by her children, Laura White (Mark), Steve Mankin, and Bill Mankin (Julie) all of Fort Myers, Fl, five grandchildren, Brittany (Chad), Lauren (Brett), Michael, Erin (Michael), and Natalie; as well as three great grandchildren, Benjamin, Theodore and Samuel.
The family will be having a private celebration of life.
