Mrs.Holbrook was my 6th grade teacher. She was the one who told me about God, that He was real and loved me. She changed my entire life.
Gean and Jim were truly a team serving Jesus. She was always there for Jim and McGregor Baptist. Grateful she is now singing in the choir in heaven where everything is perfect and beautiful.
My walk with Christ coincided with my meeting Jim and Gean Holbrook. Coming from a jewish background, I had so many questions, so many concerns and then…I married a wonderful man who planned on being a minister. Going out to dinner with Jim and Gean, then lunch with Gean….her telling me things to expect, things that wouldn’t make sense and how to support my husband as he served the Lord. Her words served me well as Tim made the decision to leave the ministry. I know she is singing for Joy with Heavens Choir. No more pain, no more confusion, just happiness and glory. But, wow, she’ll be missed down here.
I have very fond memories of Gene as my Sunday School teacher when we first moved here to Fort Myers. She was a gifted teacher, singer, musician and so much more. I loved to see how she shared her love of the Lord. How thankful we all can be that in God’s perfect will He brought two wonderful loving husband and wife together to minister for His kingdom. My life was richer for knowing Gene and Jim.
Please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of your beautiful wife, mother and grandmother. I hope you find encouraging the words found in the Bible at Revelation 21:4, where God tells us that very soon he will do away with death and sickness from the Earth forever, and then he will resurrect Gean to perfect life here on Earth, surrounded by her family and friends, which has always been God’s purpose for mankind and for the Earth.
