Deepest condolences to Cousins Elaine, Lynnette, Gail, Jimbo, and family! God bless Uncle Fame. We love him so much. He used to visit us a lot when We were younger. Here he is with my sisters Leilani and Elizabeth. He was the gentle giant hero that I looked up to. He got me my favorite outfit that I even wore it to Disneyland. Fame entered my life unexpectedly, on a chance flight to Cleveland in 2016. What followed next was beyond anything I could have imagined. I enjoyed meeting him and hearing his many stories of life in the Philippines during World War II and beyond. Ultimately this led to meeting his wonderful family too. We were honored to have his presence at many of our DC veterans tributes during the years since. I wrote a little article about that first meeting. He was a rare and bright light and will be very missed by all who knew him. May he Rest in Eternal Peace.

Many memories with Dad as it’s hard to list them all. Not including, me as a child, I had many-many fishing and crabbing trips with him.

One of my fondest memories of Uncle Fame occurred while visiting my parents - Flor & Linda Dumlao. I was there with my wife Aggie before we had children. Uncle Fame showed up on my parent's dock with his boat and took us on a tour of the inter-coastal throughout the neighborhood. He loved the water and he knew the waterways like the old salt that he was. We had such an enjoyable time with him and it was even more memorable to actually see him in his element. He was the kindest, most generous person. I loved his spontaneity and his joie de vivre. We will miss him dearly.
