Felix Alberto Fontanez's Obituary
Felix Alberto Fontanez, 76, passed away July 10, 2013. He was born September 18, 1936 in Caguas, Puerto Rico to the late Eladio and Angelina (Diaz) Fontanez. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Jose and Guillermo Fontanez.Felix served our country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and with the National Guard he served in the 1st Gulf War when he was 50 years old. He retired after 28 years of service with the water department in Puerto Rico. Felix loved bowling, fishing, base ball, reading, gardening, cutting grass and road trips. He was passionate about helping others and keeping his family together. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Rita; daughters, Angie Henriquez and her husband Manny of Miami and Cynthia Ocasio and her husband Raul of Cape Coral; brothers, Rene Fontanez and his wife Chiquita and Pedro Fontanez and his wife Nellie all of Puerto Rico; sister, Idalia Cantres and her husband Frank of Cape Coral; grandchildren, Anthony, Amanda, Raulito and Paola and nephews, Rudy and Bobby Fontanez. There will be a visitation on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be Tuesday at 11:30 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Blvd. South, Cape Coral, Florida. Interment will follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be left online at www.fortmyersmemorial.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to assist with funeral costs.
