Felix Puglisi's Obituary
Felix Puglisi, 91, of Fort Myers, Florida passed away on January 26, 2017 at the Hope Hospice House located at Health Park.He was born October 20, 1925 in Filicudi, Italy to the late Angelo Puglisi and Marianna Rando Puglisi Viscuso. He immigrated to the United States of America with his mother, Marianna and brother, Joseph, at the age of 14.Felix was the beloved husband of 58 years to the late Lucy Theresa Pitarri Puglisi. He was the brother of the late Joseph Puglisi and his wife, Agnes Puglisi.He proudly served in the United States Navy stationed in Corpus Christie, Texas during World War II. His commanding officer was Arthur Godfrey. Felix quickly learned English and how to cook while in the Navy.Felix then worked for New Your Telephone (later NYNEX and now Verizon) as an installer in Wantagh, New York. Felix retired in 1984.Felix is survived by his loving son, Philip Puglisi (Charlotte); sister Cathy Serrentino (Joseph), and many wonderful nieces and nephews.A Memorial Service for Felix will be celebrated at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 inside the chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Friends will be received for an hour preceding this service beginning at 11:00 AM also inside the funeral home chapel.
