Flora Vivian Rodrigues' Obituary
Flora Vivian Rodrigues, 91, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 1952, formerly of Alabama, passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022. She was born April 28, 1930 in Mentone, AL to the late Lodie and Hattie Brooks.
Flo always put her family and close friends first in her life. She was an extremely hardworking and determined woman from working at the Florida Palms Mobile Home Park she owned and maintained to her passion working with the Edison Festival of Lights Parade for over 45 years – building award-winning floats for three generations of family members. She deeply loved and had a very special bond with her dog, Marley. In her retirement years, she frequently traveled with family around the world – from Australia, to Europe, to Colorado, Hawaii, and Alaska. She was the glue that held her family together. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph in 2013; as well as her three sisters and two brothers.
Flora is survived by her two children, Kathy S. Bright (Ronnie) of Fort Myers, FL and Bill Richards of Fort Myers, FL; one sister-in-law, Louise Brooks of Georgia; four grandchildren, Shawn, Morgan, Amber and Reid; two great grandchildren, Kayla and Brianna; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, Monday, January 17, 2022 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL. The Funeral Service will be celebrated at 1:00 PM following the visitation. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Myers, FL.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908 in loving memory of Flora Vivian Rodrigues.
