Florence Jean Burns' Obituary
Jean Burns of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away following a recent illness on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 with her loving family by her side. She was 94 years old.Jean was born on May 2, 1920 in Port Clinton, Ohio, the beautiful daughter of Clara Pauline (Fall) and Lester David Luchsinger. She was a strong and devout Christian woman who showed her love for the Savior by always practicing her faith with tremendous enthusiasm and energy. Jean was blessed by the Lord with the spirit of music in her soul and a talent for playing the clarinet. She was a Charter Member of the Fort Myers Symphony and was the principal clarinetist in that orchestra for over 25 years. She was also a member of the Calusa Musicale and faithfully sang in the church choir throughout her life.She leaves to cherish her loving memory her daughter Jill Hinman (Jim) and her grandson Joel Hinman (Stacy). She also leaves behind a number of extended family members and scores of people who were happy to know her and be her friend. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph W. Burns.A Memorial Service for Jean will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in the Guiding Light Community Church, 1360 Touchstone Road, North Fort Myers, Florida 33903, (239) 997-0333. Rev. Dr. Benny Anthony will be conducting the services at church and all are welcome to attend.In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you instead consider a contribution in in her memory to Guiding Light Community Church, 1360 Touchstone Road, North Fort Myers, Florida 33903.Entombment will take place in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555.
