Florence Scott's Obituary
Florence Scott of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully Friday, August 18, 2017 at Hope Hospice of Fort Myers. She was 87. She was born Friday, April 11, 1930 in Port Chester, New York; the beloved daughter of the late Henry and Wilhelmine Harmeyer. She graduated from the Berkeley Secretarial School and began her secretarial career and her role as a loving wife and devoted mother. A life-long Lutheran, she was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Mamaroneck, New York. After her husband’s retirement, she moved to Sanibel Island, Florida in 1983. At the time of her death she resided in Fort Myers, Florida. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Scott, Jr. (May 28, 2015) and a son, Daniel B. Ruesch. Florence is survived by her son Philip C. Ruesch of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; three stepchildren, David (Gail) Scott of Boulder, CO. Hillary Stern of Greensboro, NC, and Lindsay (James) Waters of Chapel Hill, NC. She is also survived by four grandchildren.Memorial services are pending at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 3907.
