Floyd A. Peede's Obituary
Ret Col Floyd A Peede Jr. 89 of Fort Myers, FL died Dec 31 2012. Born in Albany, GA. He married Juanita in Carencro LA. He Graduated from Georgia Tech as an Industrial Engineer in 1948. At 19 he joined the Army Air Corps to serve in WWII and remained in the Air Force for 30 years as a B17 B47 and A26 combat Pilot. In WWII Floyd commanded 36 missions earning the Distinguished Flying Cross. While serving in Vietnam Floyd commanded 57 missions earning the Silver Star. Floyd and Juanita retired to Patrick Air Force Base Florida where Floyd became a stockbroker with Shearson Lehman for 20 years. Floyd’s hobbies include golf and writing. He published 4 books during his life. Fly High Fly Low, a memoir of his military career and 3 books of poems describing flying, the military and life in general. Floyd and Juanita enjoyed living in many states and several countries throughout their life together. Floyd is survived by his children, Floyd A Peede III (Diane), Charlotte A Schwartzel and Thomas A Peede (Terriann) grandchildren Jim Schwartzel (Carly), Christina Aguado (Cesar), Jodi Rienzo (Marc), Melissa Peede-Wallentin (Nate), Thomas Peede (Alison), Conner Peede, Sawyer Peede and Samuel Peede and 7 great-grandchildren, Joseph and Katherine (Jim), Elinor, Evelin and Grayson (Jodi), Cesar and Gabriella (Christina). He is also survived by his very dear companion Marie V Smith. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita H Peede, son Michael A Peede, Sister Virginia Peede Alexander and his brother-in-law Eugene Alexander. Services will be held at Church of the Resurrection, 8121 Cypress Lake Dr., Fort Myers, FL 33919, 239-481-7172, Saturday Jan. 19 at 12:00 Noon
