Floyd R. Elrod's Obituary
Floyd R. Elrod of Lehigh Acres, Florida, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 9, 2016 in Gulf Coast Medical Center, Fort Myers, Florida. He was 77. Floyd was born July 4, 1938 in Jackson County, Alabama, in the home of his parents, Grover Hurl Elrod and Nellie Elrod. He worked as an over the road truck driver for several years. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Marie, Fay and Glenda and three brothers, Charlie, Melvin and Johnnie. Floyd is survived by his wife of 54+ years, Patricia; their son, Thomas Elrod and his wife Betsy; and two brothers, Danny Elrod and Earl Elrod. Floyd is also survived by two grandchildren, Kaitlin and Tommie and one great grandson, Kace. In addition to his family, Floyd is survived by countless friends who were welcomed into their home and treated as family. He will be greatly missed. Memorial services are pending and details will be shared when finalized. Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is serving the family.
