Forrest ?Ç£Johnny?Ç¥ Franklin Wilt, 87, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2011.?áHe was born May 20, 1923 in Timberville, Virginia to the late Charles and Mary (Tusing) Wilt.?áIn addition to his parents, Johnny is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille C. and his son, John Paul Wilt. He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Janet; children, Dennis of Virginia, Walter, Debra Harris, Carol Fields and Roy all of Florida; step-children, Kathy Murry of MO and Scott Caulfield of Michigan; several grandchildren; brothers, Charles and David and sister, Catherine Roadcap all of Timberville, Virginia. He worked at Rockingham Poultry in Timberville before moving to North Fort Myers.?áHe retired from Sears in 1982 and again from Sprint in 1988.?áHe received numerous awards from all three companies. He was very proud of being a WWII veteran.?áHe received the Bronze Star and many other medals.?áJohnny was a volunteer for Palmona Park Neighborhood Watch and Voted Citizen of the Year of North Fort Myers in 1997. There will be a visitation on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00am at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.?áFuneral will be follow at 11:00.?áInterment and military honors will be at 1:30 PM at Sarasota National Cemetery.
