Frances P Coleman's Obituary
Frances L. Pigott Coleman, a lifelong resident of Fort Myers, passed away peacefully at her home on March 29, 2025.
A graduate of Fort Myers High School, Frances enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a legal secretary before retiring from the Federal Public Defender's Office. Beyond her professional life, she had a passion for serving the deaf and hearing-impaired community. She started the Deaf Ministry at First Assembly of God in Fort Myers, which included monthly Deaf socials and sign language classes.
Frances was the daughter of Frank A. Pigott and Rachel P. Vickers. She was married to W. Darrell Coleman, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her son, Carlin D. Coleman, and daughter, Alena C. Coleman; five grandchildren, John N. Nipper III, Brianna Carapezza, Brenna Nipper-Kaulbars, Logan Coleman, and Cullen Coleman; and three great-grandchildren, Kaylee Nipper, Luna "Lexi" Nipper, and Emma Carapezza. She is also survived by her brothers, Harvey Pigott and wife Pam, and Ralph Pigott and wife Valerie.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens. Gathering will begin at 10:00 AM, with the service starting at 11:00 AM. Lunch will be served in the dining hall following the urn placement.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
