Francis Joseph Flynn Jr.'s Obituary
Francis Joseph Flynn Jr., better known simply as "Fran" by his family and friends, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away peacefully with his family at his side on Thursday, September 14, 2023 while under Hospice care for some recent health challenges. He was 87 years old.
Fran was born in Norwich, Connecticut on March 13, 1936, the proud son to Aldea (Dazy) and Francis J. Flynn Sr. He was employed in Connecticut and in Florida by several large school districts providing custodial and physical plant maintenance services. He was a active member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and served as Exalted Ruler of the Fort Myers Lodge of Elks No. 1288 and later as Trustee of the Cape Coral Lodge of Elks, No. 2596.
He was the loving husband to and leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife Nancy (Tyrrell) Flynn. He also leaves behind his sons Mark Flynn, Michael Flynn and Francis J. Flynn III and stepchildren; David McConnell, Daniel McConnell and Sarah McMillan; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; many extended family members along with a multitude of others who were proud to call him a friend. He will be warmly remembered and fondly missed by all who knew him.
Funeral Services for Fran will be conducted privately by the family and he will be laid to rest in the Garden of the Good Shepherd at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery during a committal ceremony held on an undisclosed date and time.
