Francis "Flash" Goodheart's Obituary
Francis (Flash) Goodheart passed away on October 27, 2018 at the age of 92 in Fort Myers, Florida. Born to Audrey and Yvonne Goodheart of Augusta, Maine. He got the nickname “Flash” from performing as an end man at the famous Chizzle Whizzle at Cony High for 4 years.After graduation in 1944, Flash joined the Navy and served 2 years. When he came home, he met and married Jeannine Caron in May, 1950. Four months later he was called back to the Navy and served in the Korean War for 2 more years.Flash worked for many years for his father at Goodheart’s Cleaners and later worked for the local newspaper, Kennebec Journal, for 25 years.He was a 50 plus year member of the Calumet Club and American Legion Post #2 in Augusta, Maine. Flash and Jeannine also enjoyed summers on Clary Lake in Jefferson, Maine and retired in Fort Myers, Florida.He is survived by his loving wife and 4 children; sons Ron, Dan and Gary Goodheart and daughter Karen Marr. He also leaves behind four grandchildren; Ron, Amy and Gary Goodheart and Eddie Marr and one great grandchild Reese Goodheart.Immediate funeral services are private and Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is assisting the family with Flash’s final care.
