Frank Kresini's Obituary
Frank Kresini, 91, of Fort Myers, formerly of Allentown, PA, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017. He was born June 10, 1926 in Allentown, PA and moved to Florida in 1981. He proudly served the United States Army Air Corps during World War II where he was a gunner on a B-17 Bomber. Following his service, he became a police officer for the Allentown Police Department at age 27 where he became a Lieutenant and Chief of Security for the juvenile department. While a policeman, he captured a bank robber, two prison escapees from Lehigh County Prison, seven burglars, two car thieves and two arsonists. He was a former member of the Jordan Masonic Lodge, member of the Uke Club, life member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #10 in Allentown and member of St. Mary’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Allentown. Frank also played center field in Class A baseball in Allentown.After Mayor Gross died, the chairman of the Democratic Party asked Frank to run for office. Frank declined so Ray Brady ran in Frank’s place and was elected Mayor of Allentown.Frank will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Ruth, who preceded him in death in 2010.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907, 239-936-0555.
