Frank Joseph Middendorf's Obituary
Frank Joseph Middendorf, 94 , of Sanibel passed away peacefully with his loving wife and family by his side on February 26, 2024. Frank was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Frank and Madeline(Graf) Middendorf.
Frank graduated college from the University of Cincinnati, where he was the starting center for the Bearcats football team. He was drafted into the US Army in 1952, where he proudly served within the Northwestern states. Once discharged Frank was hired by United Parcel Service and had a flourishing career there for 38 years. Upon retiring, Frank moved to Florida and fulfilled his dream of fishing at leisure and spending time with family and friends. Frank will always be remembered for his hard work, his devotion to his family, his sense of humor and his positive outlook on life.
Frank is preceded in passing by his parents, his sister Jane Krems, his son Michael Middendorf, his daughters Clare Adams and Ruth Middendorf, and his grandson Ethan Middendorf.
Frank leaves his loving memory with his survivors, wife of 70 years Patricia, his sister Ruth Regensberger, children Christina Smith, Caroline Middendorf, Mark Middendorf, Matthew Middendorf, Martin Middendorf, Max Middendorf, Cheryl Skead, Marshall Middendorf, Mack Middendorf, Marcus Middendorf, Maurice Middendorf, and Marcel Middendorf, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Frank’s family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the final care of his final arrangement. There will be a visitation held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 5PM-7PM. There will be a funeral mass for Frank on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at 11AM at St. Columbkille Catholic Church 12171 Iona Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33908.
