Frank Anthony Muto Jr's Obituary
With heavy hearts, we bid goodbye to our father, husband and friend.
Frank Anthony Muto Jr. of Cape Coral, Florida (formerly of Punxsutawney), completed his life journey, surrounded by his loving family on May 6, 2024.
Frank was born on June 3,1945 the son of the late Frank Sr. and Helen (Scardamalia) Muto. He was born and raised in Pittsburgh and graduated from South Hills Catholic High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard the USS Spiegal Grove during the Cuban missile crisis. After serving in the military, Frank entered the Pennsylvania State Police Academy and stationed in Punxsutawney, he had a long and distinguished career as a PA State Trooper and Detective/criminal investigator. After retiring from the State Police, Frank continued to do private investigation work part-time while spending countless summer days boating and fishing on Lake Erie . He and his wife Deb also established D&D Boarding and Grooming Kennels which they ran successfully for many years until he headed South to Florida to be able to pursue his lifelong love of boating all year around. This led to Frank starting his second career as Harbour Master of the Cape Harbour Marina.
Frank was known for his charismatic, outgoing personality, attracting people to him by his subtle charm. Always willing to help people out and if he couldn’t, he “ knew a guy” that could. He lived life to the fullest, always making sure everyone was having a good time and forever searching for the best deal and the biggest fish!
He made us laugh like crazy and created endless memories that will sustain us for the rest of our lives.
Frank is survived by his loving wife Debra, two children, Renee (Muto) Garvin and Marc Muto, both of Pittsburgh, step-son David Freno and wife Stephanie and their children Braeden and Chloe of Indiana, sister Dr. Susan A. Muto, brother Victor D. Muto (wife Maria, niece Adrianne, nephew Anthony) and former wife Elaine Muto.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his nephew Victor Muto and his beloved only grandson Adam J. Garvin.
At Franks request, there will be no visitation.
“Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up , totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming WOW what a ride”
