Frederic S. Dennen's Obituary
Frederic Dennen, age 86, of Fort Myers, Florida died of health complications on January 26, 2024.
He was born is Gloucester, Massachusetts in 1937 to Frederick Dennen and Marie Hardiman with a heartfelt passion for football. Fred attended Gloucester High School before studying history at the University of New Hampshire. He later went on to get his M.ED at the University of Illinois. His hard work and dedication lead him to sign twice as a free agent to the Boston Patriots where he has been featured at the Patriots Hall of Fame at Gillette Stadium. Fred prided himself in his ability to encourage youths through his work as an honored head football coach at Brookline High School, Lawrence High School, and Montville High School. He spoke highly of the teamwork exemplified by those he coached leading to a win at the 1990 Carey Division Championship where he was given the high prestige of the 1990 Boston Globe Coach of the Year Award.
Fred was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister, Kathy Littlefield. He is survived by his wife, Penny Coburn-Dennen, his daughters Kendall Daly and Brook Dennen, and grandchildren Dylan, Eoghan, Tadhg, and Daire.
His family and friends thank all who have cheered Fred on as he coached many throughout his life. He will be truly missed.
