Garry Lewis Houston's Obituary
Garry Lewis Houston, 67, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since 2012, formerly from Nashville, KS passed away suddenly Saturday, May 8, 2021 in Cape Coral, FL. He was born June 22, 1953 in Mooresville, NC.
Garry was a former Marine and spent many years working with Verizon telephone service. Garry loved fishing, music and was a fabulous singer. Garry also loved motorcycles and touring the world. Garry enjoyed helping the elderly by providing meals on wheels and had received his CNA license within the last few years. Garry was very active in politics throughout his life and spent time on the city council in Nashville KS. He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda.
Garry is survived by his loving husband of 38 years, Daniel Maltbie of Fort Myers, FL; two sons, Carlos Houston of Grafton, MA and Robert Houston of Charlotte, NC; seven grandchildren, Joseph, Devin, Nathan, Cheyanne, Hailey, Triniti and Hayley; one great granddaughter on the way, Niamh; as well as many extended family members and friends.
A Graveside service will be held 10AM, Friday, May 14, 2021 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907 where the United States Marine Corp. will be rendering Military Honors.
