Gary Stephen Gyarmathy's Obituary
Gary Stephen Gyarmathy, 84, of Fort Myers passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on June 30, 2024. Gary was born May 6, 1940, to Steven and Pauline in Windsor, Ontario Canada.
Gary has called Florida his home since 1957 when he moved to Clearwater. Gary joined the US Army and was active in the National Guard for 6 years. He found his calling in the restaurant business in 1962 and had a successful career as a franchisee of various restaurant concepts. He also spent many years as an Auxiliary Deputy Sheriff in St. Lucie County Florida.
Gary is preceded in passing by his parents, Steve and Pauline Gyarmathy. Gary's loving memory lives on through his brother Jim Gyarmathy and his children, son Justin Gyarmathy (Deirdre), son Jeff Gyarmathy, daughter Stephanie Gyarmathy Goodrum (Becky). He was a grandfather to Donald, Delaney, Andrew and Taryn.
Gary's family has entrusted Fort Myers Memorial Gardens with the tender care of his final arrangements.
Visitation will be from 10am – 11am Sunday July 14th followed by a memorial service from 11am – 12pm at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 1589 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers, FL. 33907.
