Gary L. Wheeler's Obituary
Gary L. Wheeler, 76, of Fort Myers, FL passed away March 14, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Plainwell, Michigan on October 8, 1936, a son of the late Warren Dell Wheeler and Bonnabell Powers. Gary moved to Fort Myers in 1952. He graduated from Fort Myers High School class of 54, and attended Florida State University. Gary was employed as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service and retired after 42 years of faithful service. He was a member of the Church of the Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church. He loved sports, especially the grandchildren?ÇÖs games. He enjoyed his bowling team and was an avid model train enthusiast. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 56 years, Edna Jean; his children, Kevin L. Wheeler, Debra A. Lambert (Daniel), Gary K. Wheeler (Jennifer) and Lori D. Ruby (James); 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; brothers, Alan and David Wheeler. A Memorial Celebration of Gary?ÇÖs life will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Forts Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hope Hospice, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908 or a charity of ones choice.
