Remembering George:
My fondest memory of George comes from a visit Regina’s and my mother and I made in Oct. 2019. Living on different coasts, me didn’t get see much of each other. It started at the airport with signs and hugs and a commotion that had folks looking. It was a celebration of mom’s 95th birthday and George did everything the entire week to make sure it was a wonderful visit, including (but not completely proven) cheating at cards while Gina and I were out of the room. It was if only days and not years since we had all last seen each other. We went to lunch at a very old established, cool and happening little beach bar. The place was packed so we strolled along the beach area and played the ring toss game on a tree until mom wanted to sit a bit. George grabbed a couple chairs and they sat down and talked and laughed while we waited. The looks and happiness on their faces as well as them leaning way over to the sides of each chair to hear each other was/is priceless. The food and atmosphere were great and the setting could not be beat! Sadly, a hurricane destroyed the establishment the next season, but pictures and memories remind us of a wonderful time spent with George and Regina.
Rest in Peace George.
You are loved and missed.
