George W. Cook's Obituary
George W. Cook, 87, of Fort Myers, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 following an extended illness. He was born September 23, 1931 in Perth Amboy, NJ to George and Mary (Bobal) Cook. He moved to Fort Myers from Woodbridge, NJ in 2005. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He retired in 1992 as a Police Office in the Woodbridge Police Department after 32 years of service. He was a stock car race driver. His claim to fame was being on Wheel of Fortune.Mr. Cook is survived by his wife of 30 years, Margaret J. Cook; his son, Craig Cook of Tennessee; his step-children: Debra Nelson (Joe) of Iselin, NJ and William Miller (Rose) of Summersville, WV. He was preceded in death by a brother and a daughter, Debbie Zumpatta.Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Sunday, September 8, 2019 in the chapel of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends will be received from 12:00 PM until the time of the service.
