George Kratsios' Obituary
George J. Kratsios, 84, of Ft. Myers passed away Friday, October 22, 2010. Born and raised in war torn Greece. George went to the US after the war on a scholarship to CCNY barely knowing the English language. While attending college, he struggled but learned the language and became a very successful Engineer graduating with a Bachelors Degree and eventually obtaining his Masters Degree. An optimist that believed in sacrifice, George rose to the position of a Divisional Vice President of the Foster Wheeler U.S.A Corporation. Throughout his life and career he persevered and overcame many hardships. He traveled extensively and worked many hours to achieve success and provide for his family. George was extremely proud to be an American and cherished his citizenship. A man with a tremendous sense of humor, he loved to smile and laugh. He enjoyed golfing and socializing.?á He was a mentor to his children and a wonderful husband who placed everyone else ahead of himself. The service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 27th at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church followed by entombment at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
