George Nicolaidis' Obituary
George Nicolaidis, 92, of Ft. Myers, FL, passed away peacefully at home on Friday morning surrounded by loved ones. He was a valued member of the Greek church community and enjoyed retired life in Florida with his wife, Helen, for the past few decades. Earlier in his life, George had a proud career at TWA and spent many years traveling the world and learning languages.
George is survived by his beloved wife Helen; two daughters Lia and Christina; seven grandchildren Lauren, Allison, Brittany, Stephen, Daniel, Brian, and Matthew; and five great-grandchildren Aiden, Elliot, George, Ingrid and Holly. He was blessed to meet the last of his great-grandchildren the night before he passed.
He was a family man and will always be remembered for his love and generosity. A true entertainer, George enjoyed card games and telling stories with friends and neighbors. He was proud of his Greek heritage, always connecting with other Greeks and passing down songs and traditions within his family.
A Visitation for George will be conducted from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. A period of Visitation will also be observed the following day, Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 8210 Cypress Lake Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33919. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM inside the Church Sanctuary. At the conclusion of this ceremony, friends and family will proceed to Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555, where George will be laid to rest inside the Meditation Garden.
