George W. Partridge's Obituary
George W. Partridge Sr. of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, April 10, 2017 following some recent health challenges. He was 84 years old.George was born June 4, 1932 in Lynbrook, New York, the proud son of Helen (Hartmann) and Clarence W. Partridge. He was a combat veteran of the United States Army who served during the Korean War. George was an entrepreneur with a knack for socializing and fun. He developed and owned a number of lounge and restaurant establishments, most recently The Elbow Room, as well as having previously owned Tubby’s Pub & Sub, The Yellow Rose Restaurant, and The Outhouse.He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Suzanne (Lancette) Partridge, his daughters Susan Joiner and Christina Partridge and his sons-in-law Russell Howard (Fran’s husband) and Shawn K. Joiner, Sr. (Susan’s husband). He also leaves behind multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and a number of extended family members along with many others who were proud to call George a friend. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Sophie M. (Failla) Partridge, 19 year old son, George W. Partridge, Jr. and his 53 year old daughter Frances H. Howard.A Memorial Service for George will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 10, 2017 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Friends will be received for Visitation for an hour preceding this ceremony beginning at 1:00 PM also inside the funeral home chapel.
