George Walter Pursley's Obituary
George ”Walter” Pursley, 90, of Fort Myers, died December 17, 2015 at Health Park Hope Hospice of Fort Myers. Cremation rites are to be accorded. Memorials: Alzheimer’s Foundation. Walter was born March 8, 1925, in Irvington, NJ, the son of George W. and Edith (Anderson) Pursley. He married Johanna “Ella” Zotter, July 14, 1956 in New Jersey. Walter worked in the insurance industry most of his life, retiring as Vice President from Chubb and Son Insurance Company. During his spare time he enjoyed watching football and baseball, had a fondness for New Orleans Style Jazz and when he could, he would enjoy a good cigar. Surviving are his wife, Johanna “Ella”; children, David Pursley of Redwood City, CA, Daniel Pursley of Key Biscayne, FL; two grandchildren, Matthew Pursley and Sarah Pursley. Preceding in death are his parents and two siblings, Montel Pursley and Vivian LaManna. The Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Walter.
