George R. Steinmiller's Obituary
George R. Steinmiller of Lehigh Acres, Florida passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Sunday, August 6, 2017 following some recent health challenges. He was 94 years old.George was born on March 19, 1923 in Chicago, Illinois, the proud son of Jeanette (Michael) and George Joseph Steinmiller. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a Freight Agent and served in the European Theatre during World War II as a soldier in the United States Army. He was awarded the Bronze Star for his gallant service during combat operations. Following his military service, George joined the Chicago Police Department and advanced through the ranks before retiring as a Lieutenant. He was married to and was predeceased by his beloved wife Marie Carmel (Rocco) Steinmiller. He is survived by his son Paul J. Steinmiller and his daughter-in law Janet Steinmiller.Immediate funeral ceremonies are private.
