Gerald “Gerry” Bahr Hill
Gerald Bahr Hill, 88, of Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2022, while receiving rehabilitation care at The Preserve.
Gerry was born on April 30,1933, to Enna (nee Bahr) and William Hill of D.C. in Seaford, Delaware.
Gerry and his loving wife, Gloria, of 57 years have called Fort Myers their home since 1975 after moving from Delaware. He was a master marine mechanic and retired from Hill Marine Service. He enjoyed hunting, boating, and the Boy Scouts, where he served as a district commissioner. He was active with the Masons and Eastern Star. Gerry and Gloria have been devoted fans of Everblades hockey since the team’s inception and Gerry was the founding president of the Everblades Fan Club. He had many friends and never met a stranger. He was loved and will be missed by many.
Gerry was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and three sisters Erra, Hudson, Lois, Freda and Gladys. He is survived by his wife Gloria, her daughter Lois Minkwitz and her husband Brian, his sons Terry (Debra), Lenny (Vivian), Marty (Sharon) of Fort Myers. Grandchildren include Nicholas (Courtney) Hill of Fort Myers, Allison (Eric) King, Kevin (Amanda) Hill of Tampa, and Trevor Tenner of Fort Myers. Gerry also had eight great-grandchildren.
Gerry will be buried on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 10 am after a chapel service at 9am at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1590 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33907.
