Gerald R. Pickles' Obituary
Gerald R. Pickles, a loving husband, father, grandfather and proud United States Army Veteran, passed away on April 26, 2024, at the age of 91. Born in Connecticut on February 20, 1933, Gerald spent most of his life in New Jersey, where he made a significant impact on his community.
After serving his country during Korea, Gerald worked diligently for 33 years at General Motors. His dedication to his family was unwavering, and he took great care of them throughout the years. Gerald’s love for adventure led him to Sanibel, Florida, where he enjoyed working at Bailey’s Hardware Store and exploring the tropical islands.
An avid reader and car enthusiast, Gerald found joy in both literature and tinkering with automobiles. His wife, MaryAnn, was his partner in life until her passing in 2010. Following her death, Gerald split his time between Gulf Harbor, Florida, and Barnegat, New Jersey.
Gerald R. Pickles will be remembered for his kindness, resilience, and commitment to family. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Cox; father, Clarence Pickles; his step-father, Richard Cox; as well as his two brother, James and Calvin Pickles.
He leaves behind his two loving children, Deborah Notelle and her life partner, Mark Sikora and Roger Pickles and his wife, Rebecca; four grandchildren, Jonathan Gerald Notelle and his wife, Taya, Jacob Pickles, Bernadette Pickles and Bridgett Pickles; as well as three great granddaughters, Evelyn (9), Annette (7) and Madeline (5) Notelle.
A Graveside Service will be celebrated 3:00 PM, Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL.
