Geraldine P. Parkinson's Obituary
Geraldine P. Parkinson of Fort Myers, Florida, more simply known as Gerri as she was called by her friends and family, passed away peacefully at Health Park Care and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, May 14, 2022 following some recent health challenges. She was 86 years old.
Gerri was born on September 8, 1935 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the beautiful daughter to Josephine (Vila) and John Joseph Bradley. Gerri moved to Ft. Myers, Florida in 2003 after retiring from employment with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. At that time she joined St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church and remained active within their Community until her death. She was an avid reader who also enjoyed traveling. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her love for music and singing, as well as her devotion to family, friends and the St. Cecelia Catholic Community.
Gerri leaves to cherish her memory her three beloved children; son Michael (Helen) Parkinson, daughter Linda (Dan) Parkinson-Watson, and son John (Kelly) Parkinson; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a large extended family. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her parents, John and Josephine Bradley, and husband of 33 years, Philip Parkinson.
A Funeral Service will be held in Gerri’s honor at St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church, 5632 Sunrise Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33919, at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 13th followed by the placing of her ashes in St. Cecelia’s Memorial Garden as she requested.
