Gerard T. Roy's Obituary
Gerard Theophil Roy, 72, passed away May 25, 2022 surrounded by loving family in Cape Coral, FL. He was born in Exeter, NH on August 30, 1949 and grew up in Newmarket, NH where he met his wife Nancy Gail (Walwyn) Roy of almost 53 years. Jerry was a kind hearted, loving husband who was a proud father of four girls, 12 grandsons, one great granddaughter and three son in laws. He loved making memories camping, fishing and boating with his family. Jerry was an avid New England Sports fan and enjoyed many years playing racquetball. He spent most of his life as an ordained Assembly of God Pastor and spent over 25 years in ministry having started churches from New Jersey to New Hampshire. He was an entrepreneur with over 50 years in Information Technology starting various successful businesses. Jerry was a distinguished businessman who received many awards and accolades. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Gail (Walwyn) Roy. His daughters Jennifer Anne (Roy) Fox and her sons (James Joseph Fox IV, Joshua Caleb Fox, Justin Thomas Fox, Joseph Ryan Fox), Aimee Nicole (Roy) Soles and husband Cameron Christopher Soles, and their sons (Cooper Leland Soles, Asher Rei Soles), Danielle Christine (Roy) Ross and her husband Jeremy Robert Ross and their sons (Austin Jeremy Ross, Caleb Joseph Ross, Elijah James Ross) and Christina Marie (Roy) Lianza and her sons (Giuliano Exequiel Lianza, Angelo Vincenzo Lianza, Matteo Gaetano Lianza). He is survived by his sister Mildred (Roy) Moore and his brother Leo Roy. He is predeceased by his father and mother, Achille Theophil Roy and Marie Jeanne “Mary Jane” Yvonne (LaRoche) Roy, his sisters, Rita T. (Roy) Jarosz, Lucille (Roy) Mitchell and his son in law James Joseph Fox III.
A Visitation for Jerry will be conducted from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, May 27, 2022 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. A Funeral Service will be celebrated immediately thereafter at 1:00 PM also inside the Funeral Home Chapel. At the conclusion of this ceremony, friends and family will recess to adjacent Memorial Gardens Cemetery where Jerry will be laid to rest inside the Meditation Garden section.
