Gladys Cleo Miller's Obituary
A native of Fort Myers, Cleo Miller (85) was born on September 20, 1924 and went home to be with the Lord on July 24, 2010. After living gracefully with Parkinson’s for 10 years, she passed at home, surrounded by her large loving family who were able to share stories and memories with her until her final days.Cleo is preceded in death by husbands Lt. Raymond Earl Harney (1944) and Albert Nathan Miller, Sr. (1985).Cleo (Mema) is survived by her five children and their spouses Raymond (Kathy) Harney, Marilyn (David) Hoiles, Nathan (Francine) Miller, Carol (Rodney) Benson and Janet (Dominic) Puglisi; a brother Glenn (Linnie) Cary, 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.Cleo epitomized the dignity and selflessness of her generation. She was a loving wife, mother, homemaker and bookkeeper for her husband’s business: Miller Brothers Well Drilling.She was a member of Riverside Baptist Church since 1948 where she touched many lives by teaching Sunday School, caring for children in the nursery, cooking family-night dinners, working on the teller committee and serving in the baptism ministry.She is a well-loved woman who will be missed greatly by all who knew her.A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, July 27th at 11:00 AM at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service with graveside following.
