Glen David King's Obituary
Glen David King, age 75 (born November 6, 1945), passed away Wednesday, August 18, 1:59 A.M. His mother was Billie King and his father was Arthur T. King. David King’s U.S. Navy career was from June, 1964 to February, 1987. He entered service as an enlisted man and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer W-3.

1975-78 USS Kalamazoo (AOR-6)
1976-80 U.S. Naval Communications Station, Spain
1980 Foreign Language School, Monterey, CA
1981-85 German Naval Radio School, Flensburg, Germany
1985-87 U.S. Naval Telecommunications Center, Charleston, SC
David while at the German Naval Radio School, was the only United States instructor that became a Class Councilor. He was awarded the “Military Cross of Honor” from the German Navy for service performed while assigned as an instructor at the German Naval Communications School. The “Military Cross of Honor” is the only medal presented to German or Allied personnel.
He is survived by his siblings: Wayne, Ann, and Fred King. He is also survived by his 37-year best friend, partner and husband Richard Georgian.
David King lived in Waldorf, Maryland, from 1987 to 2005, and he worked as the office administrator for the Law Firm of Lerner, Reed, Bolton & McManus, L.L.P. He served as an election Judge for three elections in Maryland.
King from 2005 to his demise, lived in Lehigh Acres, Florida. He volunteered for Fort Myers Hope Hospice and was the parliamentarian for the Lehigh Acres Community Planning Corporation. He was an avid reader and golfer. He enjoyed live theater, traveling and fine dining.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd. Fort Myers, FL 33907, on September 17, at 1 pm. An informal celebration of David will be held at his home after the service. Please RSVP for the Celebration by September 10, 2021. Phone: 239 303 9106.
