Gloria Jean Horne's Obituary
Gloria Jean Horne, 94, a cherished lifelong resident of Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 13, 2025, in Cape Coral, FL. Born on February 18, 1930, in Labelle, FL, Gloria was the beloved daughter of the late Walter and Lillie Mae (Fulcher) Gilbert.
Gloria's life was filled with the sweet melodies of music, which she so passionately loved. Her talent with the guitar brought joy to many as she played at numerous churches throughout her life. Her music was a reflection of her loving and generous spirit, touching the hearts of everyone who had the pleasure of hearing her play. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Elmer Horne; son, Danny Edward Horne; as well as a grandson, Michael.
Gloria is survived by her loving son, Kenneth Horne and his wife, Kathy of North Fort Myers, FL; Grandchildren, Kenneth James, Crystal Gayle, Shannon Jones and Jeremy Ellis; seven great grandchildren, Austin, Lyla, Leanna, Leila, Alyssa, Jayme and Kaylee; as well as one great great grandson, Bennet.
A Graveside Service will be celebrated 11:00 AM, Friday, January 24, 2025 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers, FL 33907.
Her legacy of kindness, devotion, and musical talent will forever resonate in the memories of those who knew and loved her. Gloria's presence was a blessing, and her memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to her family and friends.
