Grace R. Blasingim's Obituary
Grace R. Blasingim of Fort Myers, Florida passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 following some recent health complications. She was 93 years old.Grace was born on April 11, 1924 in Chicago, Illinois, the beautiful daughter of Eleanor (Bordwell) and James DeWaine. She spent her working life in the accounting department for the Lee County School District before her retirement after a 20-year career. Grace was also a longtime member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Fort Myers where she worshiped and helped sustain the parish for well over 65 years.Grace leaves behind her loving children Janyce Kistler, Donald Blasingim, Debra Blasingim and Denyse (Tracy) Williams; grandchildren Michelle (Dennis) Imbody and Ashley Williams; great-grandchildren Allyson Imbody and Elizabeth Imbody and her brother James DeWaine. She also leaves behind her loving dog Elie Mae, a number of extended family members and a multitude of others who were happy to know Grace and call her a friend. Sadly, she was preceded in death by her son Ronald Blasingim and her husband of 52 years James “Bootie” Blasingim.A Memorial Service for Grace will be celebrated by Father Fritz Ligonde at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 22, 2017 inside the Chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Friends will be received two hours prior to the service beginning at 12:00 Noon also inside the funeral home chapel.
