Hazel S. Burton's Obituary
Hazel S. McGaffic Burton, 89, passed away December 29, 2010 at her residence at Shell Point Village, Fort Myers, Florida.?áShe was born in Hills Point, Maryland on May 21, 1921, and grew up in New Castle, PA where she met and married Charles L. McGaffic who predeceased her on June 22, 1988. Hazel and Charles both worked and retired from the telephone communication industry; he at AT&T and Hazel at Bell Telephone, where she retired after 35 years of service.?áIn 1985, they moved to Shell Point Village.?áHazel was extremely active in the Shell Point community as a weekly volunteer, a participant in the Shell Point Singers, also court representative, floor representative and other duties that were asked of her.?áIn 1991, she married widower Richard G. Burton, also of Shell Point Village who also predeceased her February 12, 1992. Hazel had five brothers and sisters.?áShe is survived by her brother Roy Sheehy; sister, Sarah Yoho ; step-son, Brian Burton and his wife Stella; and eight nieces and newphews. Sisters, Minta Luedtke, Donna Rowles and brother, Robert Sheehy preceded her in death. There will be a graveside service on Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00am at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens.
