Hazel Pace Murphy's Obituary
Hazel Pace Murphy, 95 of Cape Coral, FL, formerly Fort Myers, FL died peacefully in her sleep on February 7, 2015 at Juniper Village, Cape Coral, Florida. Born August 20, 1919 in Scottsboro, Alabama; she is predeceased by her loving late husband of 64 years, Francis Lafayette Murphy, son Michael Frances Murphy and daughter Delores Lewen.Hazel was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother living in Fort Myers, Florida most of her life. Hazel enjoyed cooking and baking for her family; her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family as well as extended family. Hazel was an active member of Tice United Methodist (since 1948) and was a strong woman of faith.Hazel is survived by her sons; Joe Murphy, (Sandy) in North Fort Myers, FL; Tom Murphy, (Darlene) in North Fort Myers, Fl., and Robert Murphy, (Jennifer) in Valrico, FL; Special Niece, Suzanne Grace of Fort Myers, Fl., Special Nephew, Steve Miller, (Linda) of Lake Mary, Fl., 10 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren, and many Great Nieces and Nephews. Hazel also enjoyed a wide circle of extended family and dear friends that she leaves behind.Private Services and burial will be held on February 21, 2015 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on March 14, 2015 at Tice United Methodist Church, 4545 Tice St., Fort Myers, FL 33905.In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions in Hazel Murphy’s memory be made to either Tice United Methodist Church, 4545 Tice St., Fort Myers, FL 33905, or Hope Hospice, 2430 Diplomat Pkwy, Cape Coral, FL 33909.The family also wishes to express our deep appreciation to all of the loving, caring staff at Juniper Village in Cape Coral; all of you have become members of Hazel’s extended Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Hazel.Condolences may be left to the family at www.fortmyersmemorial.com.
