Hazel Ann Wilson's Obituary
HAZEL ANN WILSON JULY 16, 2009Hazel A. Wilson, of Fort Myers, formerly of Ohio, passed away on July 16, 2009 at Hope Hospice, following a ten year battle with cancer. She was born in Mt. Gilead, Ohio on February 11, 1938 to Linley James Sr., and Katherine (Kline) Vaughn. Hazel was a member of the Wooster High School class of 1956 and married Wesley O. Walter that same year. In Wooster, she was employed many years as office manager with Wayne County Community Mental Health Board. On November 28, 1980 she was married to H. Dwayne Wilson in Chicago, IL. In January of 1989 she moved to Fort Myers where she began working for Worden & Associates, CPA and remained until her retirement in 2008. She was a devoted and active member of McGregor Baptist Church where she belonged to the Whittamore Sunday school class and served on committees for Baptism, Greeters, and Visitor Center. Hazel is survived by her loving husband Dwayne; her daughter, Sharon (Walter) Chamberlain (Tim) and grandchildren Sterling and Kathryn of Sanibel Island, FL. Also surviving is a grandson, Justin Smith (Lauren) and great granddaughters Lily, Madeline, and Graycen Hazel of Columbus, OH, as well as her aunt, Phyllis Kline of Wooster and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother; Linley James Vaughn, Jr. Memorial Services will be conducted by Pastor John Davis on Saturday, July 25 at 11:00 A.M. at McGregor Baptist Church, 3750 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers. She will be dearly missed by all whose hearts she touched along the way! The family requests donations be made to Hope Hospice in lieu of flowers.
