Helen L. Bartley's Obituary
Helen L. Bartley of North Fort Myers, Florida passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Healthpark Hospital of Fort Myers after some recent health challenges. She was 89. Helen was born June 22, 1928 in Altoona, Pennsylvania; the only daughter of the late Jack and Mildred Bartley. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church and the St. Therese Parish community of North Fort Myers. Helen retired after 30+ years in the deli and meat departments of Publix. After her retirement from Publix, she began a new career with Lee County Schools where she worked 10+ years at Caloosa Elementary School in Cape Coral. She was an avid baseball fan with long time loyalty to the Atlanta Braves. In addition, Helen was a veteran serving proudly in the United States Marine Corps. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Jim Bartley and Jack Bartley. Helen is survived by her best friend, Alan, whom she always called brother and shared the last 23 years with and will also miss his sis. She is also survived and loved by many nieces, nephews and friends who will cherish her memory. Helen will be dearly missed. Mass of Christian Burial is 11:00 am on Monday, July 17, 2017 at St. Therese Catholic Church 20115 North Tamiami Trail, North Fort Myers, FL 33903. Immediately following mass, she will be laid to rest in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, FL 33907.
