Helen Jean Kalil's Obituary
Helen Jean Kalil, 96, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Manor Care Health Services with her son and daughter by her side. She was born in Carthage, Tennessee on July 19, 1920. In her youth her family moved to Nashville where she graduated from East High School and then worked as a telephone operator. During the war she met her future husband, Lewis T. Kalil. They were married in 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri as World War II was in progress and he was an enlisted officer. They were married for 30 years until he passed away.Helen is survived by two sons, Michael and wife Robin of Fort Myers, Florida., Thomas and wife Mary Grace of Stafford, Virginia and daughter Suzanne, husband Steve Reaves of Fort Myers, Florida. She is survived by seven grandchildren; Michael Kalil,Jr. Meghan E. Nichols, Debbie Giacolone, Robin Frost, Dawn Hester, Daniel Kalil and Christine Kalil. Also,six great grand children: Caitlin Giacolone, Nicholas Giacolone, Jaisa Frost, Henry Nichols, Leah Kalil and Fiona KalilDuring her lifetime she not only worked as a telephone operator but also in retail at a major department store in Florida as assistant manager, held a real estate license in Florida, was co-manager of a designer boutique, but her most cherished occupation was as a homemaker. She lived with her family in Danbury and Bethel Connecticut for most of her life, but for the last 40 years she resided in Deland or Fort Myers, Florida.According to her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Service will be held at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, 1589 Colonial Blvd., Fort Myers Florida, 33907, Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 6:00 pm.
