Helen Jean Turney's Obituary
Helen J Turney, 89, of Fort Myers passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017. Helen was born in Whitewater, Wisconsin and raised her family in Rockford, Illinois. She had lived in Fort Myers since 1975.Helen enjoyed many activities, including volunteering at the hospital, golfing, crafting, gardening and gatherings with family and friends.Helen was much loved for her outgoing personality, devotion to family and generous spirit.Helen was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church of Cape Coral and Myerlee Country Club.Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Robert K. Turney, her brother Denette Lemke and Sister Dolores Franklin.Helen is survived by her sister Lois Smith of Sun City, Florida; daughter Judy Hauser (Jim) of Glen Ellyn, Illinois and daughter Dr. Connie Nicholson (Ken) of Crossville, Tennessee; 3 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.A Memorial Service for Helen will be celebrated by Rev. Troy Hauser-Brydon at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 15, 2017 inside the chapel at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 1589 Colonial Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida 33907, (239) 936-0555. Friends will be received for an hour preceding this ceremony beginning at 1:00 PM, also inside the funeral home chapel.
