Henry Parsons Hall's Obituary
Henry Parsons Hall, 95, died peacefully at Shell Point in Fort Myers Florida on Monday, July 17, 2023. Henry was born June 28, 1928 to Henry Twitchell Hall and Harriet McWilliams (Parsons) Hall in East Orange, New Jersey.
Henry has called Florida his home since 2010. Prior to moving full-time to Florida he resided for many years in Lincoln and Concord, MA. He attended The Loomis Institute and received his AB degree from Williams College and BS and MSEE degree in electrical engineering from MIT. Henry joined the General Radio Company (later GenRad) as a student in 1949 and in 1978 he was appointed Senior Staff Scientist. He retired from GenRad in 1992. He was instrumental in developing 16 precision measuring instruments, wrote more than 65 technical articles and was awarded numerous patents. He was a Life Fellow of the IEEE. Henry was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Tau Beta Pi, Eta Kappa Nu and Sigma Xi.
Henry and his wife Dean loved to travel and visited numerous countries in Europe as well as the Baltics, Bhutan, China, Egypt, Israel, Japan, and Thailand. He was an infielder for the North Lincoln Bearcats softball team and an avid DIYer at home who loved to grow tomatoes. He was a member of the First Parish of Concord. Henry and Dean moved fulltime to Fort Myers, Florida in 2010 and enjoyed making new friends and sharing life’s stories while also spending time with Dean’s daughter Franny and granddaughter Shelby and family who also live in Ft Myers.
Henry is preceded in passing by his wife Dean Palmer Hall, his parents Henry and Harriet, his sister Harriet Aurelia (Hall) Dieterich, his brother Burton Harrington Hall, and son-in-law Dennis B. Inman.
Henry leaves his loving memory with his survivors; son Richard B. Hall and Sadhana W. Hall, daughter Katherine R. Inman, son Christoper H. Hall and MaryAnn Hall and son James H. Hall and Jeanette Hall along with Dean’s children, son Peter B. McCagg and Yukari McCagg, daughter Frances McCagg Peters and son David McCagg, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Henry's final arrangements are under the direction of Fort Myers Memorial Gardens. There will be a celebration of Henry’s life at Shell Point at a date to be determined.
