Henry Richard Lapidus' Obituary
Henry Richard Lapidus, 66 years of age, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida. Mr. Lapidus was born April 28, 1947 in Bayonne, New Jersey, a son of the late Henry R. Lapidus and Marie Nevins Lapidus. Henry was employed in the transportation industry as a truck driver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country faithfully during the Vietnam War with the rank Sergeant. During his tour in Vietnam he was awarded the Bronze Star for his heroism in connection with military operations against a hostile force. He was a squad leader who was wounded and yet continued to get ammunition to his own men and give aid to his wounded comrades while being under heavy fire. His valorous actions contributed immeasurably to the success of the mission and the defeat of the enemy force. He was also awarded the Purple Heart, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 20 years, Maria Lapidus of Cape Coral, Florida; his children, Christopher (Kelly) Lapidus of Cape Coral, Florida and Mark Lapidus of North Carolina; his step children, Paola GJ Jeli of Hasbrough Heights, NJ, Viviana Dominguez of Miami, Florida and Mario A. Loor of Brooklyn, New York; his step grandchildren, Ervin, Elizabeth, Emily, Elina, Eric, Valery and Gabriela; his uncle, Carman Fico; a niece, Cindy Kobylarz and two cousins, Patty Lapidus and Gloria Lapidus.
