Herbert Lieberman's Obituary
Herbert Lieberman, 80, of Fort Myers, passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 following an extended illness. He was born May 27, 1936 in Syracuse, NY and moved to Florida in 1986. He was a tank commander in the U.S. Army. In 2003, he retired from General Electric Corp. after 40 years of service. During his lifetime, he volunteered for many organizations including, as a fireman and E.M.T. for the DeWitt Fire Department in DeWitt, NY as well as a Boy Scout Master. He was a Florida Master Naturalist and volunteered for the Caloosa Nature Center, the Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation Sea Turtle Program, and the Ding Darling Wildlife Society. He was a member of Caloosa River Cloggers Exhibition Team. Mr. Lieberman is survived by his wife, Ruth L. Lieberman; his children: Kenneth Lieberman (Linda) and David Lieberman (Cecilia); his step-children: Kelli Little and Travis Little. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Jennifer, Matthew, Samuel and Joseph. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Howard Lieberman. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, November 25, 2016 at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ding Darling Wildlife Society, One Wildlife Drive, P.O. Box 565, Sanibel, FL 33957.
