Hickman "Hick" Borders' Obituary
Hickman Borders of Cape Coral, Florida passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on Monday, September 18, 2017 following some very recent health challenges. He was 90 years old.Hick was born on October 3, 1926 in Sharon Grove, Kentucky, the proud son of Minnie Alice (Richmond) and Albert Cephas Borders. He enlisted in the United States Army during World War II and saw extensive combat operations in the Pacific while he was attached to the Army Air Corps. He owned and operated his own building construction company and was greatly successful. Most recently, he was volunteer at the Cape Coral Fraternal Order of Eagles where he was known as “The King of Hearts” each and every Friday night. He will be warmly remembered and fondly missed by everybody who knew him there. He is survived by his daughter Starlyn Zorb of Medina, Ohio and his daughter-in-law Denise Borders of Cape Coral, Florida. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and a great number of extended family members. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Dorothy (Jacobs) Borders and his cherished son Daniel C.
