Hilda Esther Hopkins' Obituary
A limb has fallen from the family tree, and has gone to Jesus.
Hilda Esther Hopkins was born in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico to the proud parents of Osvaldo and Francisca Torruella on January 29, 1947. Three years later, the family moved to New York City where she later graduated from high school.
Esther married her husband Rudolph Hopkins in 1980 they were in love for 43 years! They had two children, Noemi and Samantha.
After working for the Coast Guard for 20 years as an accountant she retired. Esther was a terrific cook.
Always keeping up with family traditions, loved listening to music, dancing, traveling and watching the sunset. Esther's favorite thing to do was spend time with her loved ones and being called Nana by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Esther leaves to mourn her passing:
Her wonderful husband Rudolph;
Noemi and Arthur Grier, Samantha and Christopher Shecut; two grand children Donavon and Noemi; three great grand children Logan, Londyn, Lucas; and KeeKee Evans, their mother.
Brothers and sisters Nilda, Osvaldo, Luis, and Frances.
A host of relatives and friends.
She will be missed by many.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Friday November 17, 2023 at 1:00PM at Royal Palm Memorial Gardens, 27200 Jones Loop Rd, Punta Gorda, FL 33982.
