Howard J. Weisberg's Obituary
Howard J. Weisberg, 87, a resident of Fort Myers, FL since the 80’s, formerly of Windsor, CT passed away Monday, May 17, 2021 in Fort Myers, FL under the care of Hope Hospice. He was born April 3, 1934 in Cleveland, OH to the late, Albert and Rose Weisberg.
Howard was a proud Korean War Veteran with the United States Army. He worked for the United States Postal Service in Connecticut before moving to Fort Myers where he was the first to own a One Hour Photo in Lee County. He later founded and operated Specialties Unlimited for over 20 years and was an active longtime member of Temple Beth El of Fort Myers, BNI (Business Network International) and was a longtime Mason. Howard was an avid Boston Celtics and St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved music and reading; even at the end when he lost his eyesight he adapted to books on tape and cherished them.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Madeline Weisberg in 1999; son, Errol Weisberg in 2013; and his second wife, Thelma Salzman Weisberg in 2012.
Howard is survived by his loving daughter, Reesa Wilson and her husband, Clifford of Fort Myers, FL; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
A Graveside Service will be celebrated 10:00 AM, Friday, May 21, 2021 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in the Serenity Row Garden with Rabbi Luna as the officiant and a special send off from the Jewish War Veterans.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hope Hospice, 9470 Healthpark Circle, Fort Myers, FL 33908 or to the Jewish War Veterans Post 400, c/o Berny Aronson, 8577 Brittania Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33912 in loving memory of Howard J. Weisberg.
